Summer and Vitamin C
Are you going to be spending time outside this summer?
Any time at all?
Because the sun is shining…
Which is great!
But depending on your skin…
It could take just 10 minutes for the sun’s UV rays to begin causing damage.
But what does “sun damage” even mean?
Dermatologists often refer to it as “photoaging” or “photodamage”.
It happens when UV (ultraviolet) light from the sun hits unprotected skin…
Causing DNA changes at a cellular level.
And because photodamage happens at the deepest degree of the skin…
The dermis…
It can take years before the damage surfaces and becomes visible.
But if your skin has undergone some of this damage…
It may already be starting to show.
Signs of photodamage include…
- Wrinkling…
- Pigmentation changes such as age spots and freckles…
- Loss of skin tone (decreased elasticity)…
- Rough, uneven skin texture…
- Broken capillaries (spider veins), usually around the nose and chest…
- Redness and blotchiness.
How does this happen?
It’s the UV rays from the sun affecting the DNA in your skin.
In other words…
It’s the sun aging you prematurely.
And though your geographical location and skin color can both determine how much the sun impacts your skin’s health…
Everyone is susceptible to photoaging.
Of course, you could — and should — wear sunscreen.
But do you want to lather up if you’re just going outside for a short while?
And what if you run out?
Or sweat it off?
Can the body naturally protect itself from UV rays?
For when you’re not in the shade…
And you don’t have sunscreen…
Your skin doesn’t have to be left completely vulnerable.
Not if you’re getting the right nutrition.
So, what can help?
A major review of vitamin C skin studies suggested that…
The more vitamin C you have…
The healthier your skin.
But it helps to understand why this conclusion was found…
And how we can ensure that the vitamin C we consume is helping the skin.
Here are the main conclusions from that in-depth review:
- Skin fibroblasts — the dermis cells which generate connective tissues — have an absolute dependence on vitamin C for the synthesis of collagen, and for the regulation of the collagen/elastin balance.
- Skin keratinocytes — the primary type of cell found in the epidermis — have the capacity to accumulate high concentrations of vitamin C, and this can offer protection against UV rays.
- Analysis of keratinocytes has shown that vitamin C and its antioxidant effects can strengthen the outer layer of the skin.
- Delivery of vitamin C into the skin via topical application remains challenging. Although some human studies have suggested a beneficial effect with respect to UV irradiation protection, most effective formulations contain both vitamins C and E, plus a delivery vehicle.
- Good skin health is positively associated with fruit and vegetable intake in a number of well-executed intervention studies. Though the active component isn’t clearly distinguished, vitamin C is regarded as a likely source.
- Signs of aging in human skin can be improved through the intake of vitamin C. A number of studies support this.
And because we do our research here at PuraTHRIVE…
We’ve created a vitamin C formula that can serve you best.
Our Radiant C.
This formula…
Contains no corn or soy — it is made from tapioca through a fermentation process that results in l-ascorbic acid, the most effective type of vitamin C (the same type you’d find in food!)
Is made with all-natural ingredients — there is no filler in PuraTHRIVE’s vitamin C. Every ingredient is sourced naturally and serves a purpose for you!
Is non-GMO and gluten-free — on top of that, we source organic ingredients whenever possible.
Is wrapped in micelles and liposomes — these lipids protect the nutrient through the digestive tract and deliver it to the gut wall where it can be readily absorbed.
Contains vitamin E — we’ve included this powerful vitamin in our formula for an even more powerful antioxidant effect. This contributes to further bolstering the skin!
Is rigorously tested by a third party — every batch of our vitamin C is tested for quality assurance to confirm that it is effective and pure.
Tastes amazing — with a delicious orange flavor, you’ll look forward to every dose!
